Can you use beer to cook with if children will be eating it?

a recipe I was going to make in the crock pot calls for one bottle of beer to be used. Is it ok to still use this since my two toddlers will be eating it? Does the alcohol burn off during cooking? I don't want two tipsy toddlers after dinner tonight! Thanks in advance!
