Can I Get Bright Blue or Purple From Bright Red Hair?

At the moment my hair is scarlet. I'm a bit of a goth and I have been dying it bright red for quite some time but now everybody has red hair since Rihanna did it. The only reason I did it in the first place was to be different! I'm planning to put either a blue or purple dye over the top and just wondered if anyone here has done this, or knows somebody who has, and what colour it turned out. My hair was bleached so the red turned out very bright. I'm not going to bleach it again for a while incase it breaks off. Last bleached it in November, just getting root touch ups now. Maybe I should also mention that I am 30 so don't tell me to ask my parents.
