Sword cleaning and sharpening. Umm.... HOW?!?

I just got a replica of Bill's sword from Kill Bill and it costs $50 from an anime convention. Its not sharp as you think but it can still cut. even though its a cheap piece of garbage i want to sharpen and clean it as if it was a real sword. How can i sharpen the blade to cut through a straight piece of paper, how can i clean it and if i cant find any sword oil, is there a replacement, like baby oil or canola oil, for example?
