If my cat foamed when I gave her a pill does that mean she didn't get any medicine?

I just tried pilling my feisty cat for the first time with drontal, after reading some pilling tips around the internet. She has no appetite as of the last couple days so the meatball/treat trick doesn't work. However, it wasn't that successful and she wound up chewing and foaming. My question is: if she foamed does it mean that she didn't ingest ANY medication? I'm terrified at the thought of putting her through that again and also don't want to risk giving her too much.
